In the
previous blog, I talked about the competitive and pride are different. Strength
makes people competitive, competitive is a desire to do as good as other people. Talent makes people pride, pride is an inner
feeling, it is a sense of superiority that doesn’t need to be proved. In
another word, competitive people want to prove that they are the best; proud
people want to show how are they the best.
The goal of Talent is to look good. So Talent
people don’t always shoot for the best. as long as there’s some kinds of
attraction, they are happy with it. For example: they are ok with not being the
winner, as long as they can be a charming loser, a tragic hero or something. So
we say people with Talent are driven by spiritual desire and sensation.

Kubo
Tite is the author of Japanese anime Bleach. He shows us the problem of having
too much Talent.
Talent is a signature character of artist, because Talent
is about creating and presenting. Talent is what “I” have generated, so it represents
my creation. Talent people talk and dream a lot, because word and thought are
the thing that generated by my mind. On the other hand, you need culture, literacy and analytical mind
to make your word fine, so good writers usually have Talent-Shield structure.
Kubo has the
utmost Talent structure: he has Fire as Talent, all his first two columns are pure
Fire as Talent, and (3) also supports and merges with (7) to Fire as Talent. Non-surprisingly,
he is an author of a fantasy. And I think he shows us: you cannot use Talent
alone to compose.
Bleach is an
interesting anime. It is very good at building personal charm of the characters;
the story line is very bad. I just started to read Bleach, but I think I have
got his point: The story is just a vehicle, to express emotion, to be specific,
the emotion is a sense of superiority. It’s like “look! I am better than you.
Fool! I am actually better than you. I am impressed, but I am still better than
you. Wrong! I am better than you now… etc…” The story line is messy because his
pursuit is an artistic feeling, not a good story, like some poems with no meaning.
And with so much Talent, I understand why this is the thing he wants to
express.
To compose something good, imagination and
the desire to express are not enough, you also need the ability to write a good
story, which is brought by Shield. Without Shield, Talent as foe usually
represents slander, gossip and insult. Talent means something produced by me, if I don't have certain level of culture, I will produce garbage.
Go back to Kubo. He has too much Fire,
therefore Water serves as favor. To explain his success: 1(5) is Wood on Water
tomb, 10(4) and 9(3) are Water on Wood. As an overall weak Wood self code,
these are good fortunes. However, because (3) would merge with (7) to Fire,
Kubo is going down after 2014.
According to his fortune, the best time
of his artistic life is yet to come. In the previous fortunes, (5), 9 and 10 are
Water, but not strong Water. In the future, he will have (1) and (12) those are
Water as Shield. So he will have a chance to become a real great artist when he
is older. One thing: in his previous fortunes, he had weak Water that gently meditate
with Fire. In the future, he will have strong Water that clash directly with
Fire, as (1) will crush (7), (12) will crush (6). So they will bring strong
shock to his mind and life. That could make him great, or kill him with heart
attack or something, if he couldn’t bear the shock.
