Although Wop May had Wood (4) at command, all the code around (4), double (9)s and 8 were Metal that overcomes Wood. So Wood still needed support. In another word, he had Wood-Fire as favor, Metal as the major foe.

(6)(7)(8) are the three steps of Fire. Fire overcomes Metal, hence his success. 1918 was the (7) year of the (6) fortune. The power of Fire reached to the peak, hence the pinnacle of his achievement: he defeated Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen, in an air battle. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1918 for the victory.

(6)(7)(8) fortune was the highlight of his life, his service year was 1916 to 1918. As you can see, he had lot of years of favor fortune after the war. So he had further achievement in his postwar career, such as fly across Canada as "the race against death", help catching mad trapper Albert Johnson.

He died 1952. The reason is very obvious in fortune telling. The most crucial code in his life code is (4). And (4) can be crushed by (10). So he died in the (10) fortune. As I said before that if the command code serves as favor, the life owner dies in the 6th fortune as the fortune crushes the command. The year 1952 was a (5) year. (5) supports and merges (10) to Metal as foe, caused his death.
