Emperor Gaozong of Song was an overall
weak for having too much Fire, so Water-Wood served as favor. (5)(4)(3) are the
three steps of Water; (2)(1)(12) are the three steps of Wood. He became emperor
1129, in the first fortune that contains Water-Wood, and died in the (11)
fortune, after finishing all of his favor fortunes. He died 1187. It was the 4(8)
year in the 5(11) fortune. 4(8) and 5(11) are both Fire-Earth, (8) and (11) both
merge (7) to Fire, caused his death.
Although Wood was a Strengthening element,
it supported Fire which is the major foe, so Water was the main favor. He abdicated
in 1162 after reigning for more than 35 years,
and passed the throne to his adopted son, and lived as retired emperor 25 more
years. The fortune shows it was the best time in his life. Normally new power would
eliminate the old power, but Gaozong and his step son were known for good
relation. His son was called Xiaozong. Xiao literally means being filial to one's parents. Averagely, Chinese
emperors live 40 years due to great pressure. Gaozong live 81 years which was
the record for a long time.
Gaozong didn’t have his own son to success
him because he had too much Talent. Talent overcomes Authority, and Authority
represents son for men.
