Jean-Pierre Papin is a retired soccer player. He was the next French super star after Platini, and listed in the FIFA 100 greatest living players in 2004.

Papin jointed professional club in 1982, in two years, he scored 120 goals. Then he was noticed by bigger clubs, and became the top striker in France. 1991 was the peak of his career, he was named the European Footballer of the year, he also won the Ballon d'or in 1991.

In 1992, he made a transfer to Milan. Back then, Serie A only allowed 3 foreign players on the pitch for every club. But Milan has 7 foreign players including Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten. Papin became a substitute and started to lose his confidence. In 1994, he made a transfer to Bayern Munich, but he suffered an injury, and spent 10 months on bed. He couldn’t fit in Bayern Munich, Lothar Matthäus even criticized him in public. He also lost the position in France national team, Aimé Jacquet would rather use Christophe Dugarry who's incredibly untalented. In 1998, France won the World Cup without him, Papin announced retirement.

Papin is an overall weak because his Water is clearly weaker than Fire-Earth. The root of Water is (1), on the left, it has (4) and (11) merge to Fire; on the right, it has (6) which is Fire. In conclusion, Papin has Metal-Water as favor. In his fortune, we can clearly see a major turning point: 1992. Before 1992, the fortune was 7(9) which is Metal on Metal as favor; after 1992, the fortune was 6(8) which is Earth on Earth as foe. That is why Papin’s career went down after 1992 by making wrong transfer decisions. Papin’s prime was 1982 to 1992. (10) and (9) are both Metal that supports Water, but (9) is better because it merges (1) to Water. Papin didn’t do much after retirement because (8) to (3) is the Fire-Wood semicircle, he will spend his life mainly in foe fortune. The (5) fortune will be the little high in the low because it merges (1) to Water.
