Ouyang Xiu, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouyang_Xiu, was a Chinese statesman, historian, essayist, calligrapher and poet of the Song Dynasty.

I quote Ouyang Xiu's life code here because it is harder than usual cases. The question about his life code: which one was stronger, Metal or Wood? Metal (9) took the command, but it was the only Metal in his life code; Wood had two strong roots, (3) and (4), and don’t forget the self code 2 and Wood tomb (8), it seems Wood was strong enough to take Metal as Authority as favor.

On the other hand, he had no Water (Shield) in life code, so Metal and Wood were confrontational, nothing was there to reconcile the clash. Furthermore, although Metal was a single code, it was the end of the circulation: Wood grows Fire, Fire grows Earth, Earth grows Metal, and Metal had no Water to grow. Therefore, massive power was accumulated within Metal.

In conclusion, although Ouyang Xiu had two strong roots, he was still an overall weak to afford Authority, which is unlike usual cases. Fortune telling is as complicated as human itself, there are always exceptions, and we need to analyze on a case by case basis.

With the conclusion, everything is easy. Ouyang Xiu needed to control Authority, therefore he was a successful person with mainly Fire and Wood fortunes. He died at the age 65, in the 8(2) fortune. 8(2) was Slaughter sitting on Slaughter tomb, Slaughter served as foe because Ouyang Xiu was an overall weak. Moreover, the Wood tomb (8) was crushed by the fortune (2).

The second one yield to Authority and the first one needs to control Authority. The first one looks like having more Authority, however, it doesn't have strong Metal to reconcile Earth and Water, so there are two forces in battle: the first two columns are the force of Authority and the last two columns are the force against Authority.

On the other hand, although the second life code has more Fire and Earth that could counter Water, it has (10) to reconcile Earth and Water. (10) and (6) merge and become Metal to help Water, (11) supports (10), and (10) supports Water. In another word, the Earth and Fire in the second life code are all united by (10) to support Water the Authority. The Authority is unstoppable and the life code has to yield to it.

Robert Philip Hanssen’s life code isn’t the same as what it looks like. From the appearance, he respects orders because he has strong Authority. In fact, he is a willful individualist who does whatever he likes. Because (9)(1)(5) merges and becomes Water as Strength. And he actually yields to Water. 9(9) and 10(10) were the best fortunes for him, and he used the good time to be a double agent. He was caught in 2001, when the good fortunes ended.
